Drink Tea for Weight Loss
We always have known that tea is delicious, refreshing, and thirst-quenching and in some cases may help reduce the risk of cancer.
You can now add it to the list of no-calorie foods that may help promote weight loss.
A recent study of more than 1,100 people in Taiwan, reported in Obesity Research, revealed that those people who drank at least one glass of black, green, or oolong tea per week for 10 years had 20 percent less body fat and 2 percent less abdominal fat than those who drank none. This was regardless of the amount of physical activity, food intake, and other lifestyle habits.
The researchers surmise that the tea may raise the metabolic rate while lowering the absorption of sugars and fat-producing molecules. This study is the most recent that relates tea to weight loss and adds evidence to what has up till now been a mixed bag of results. Multiple studies have suggested that tea promotes weight loss, whereas a few others have questioned its role. The best way to answer the question is once again to try it in your own life.
